How Will We Plan?
What should we think about?

-
What will students be getting smarter about? (Content LT)
-
How will we use our time? Workshop wheel
-
What will students be doing for worktime? What will it look and sound like? What will be their task/text? How do I want students to feel?
-
What will they need from me to allow that thinking and learning to happen? Do they really need a math nugget, or do I just need to frame the thinking they will be doing?
-
How will students make sense of their work? Debrief as the new mini. How can we capture everything that students figured out through some strategic share outs and holding our thinking?
-
-
What kind of thinking will help students make sense of the math?
(Thinking LT)
-
What student behaviors will help them grow their mathematical identity and agency? (Habit LT)

As an instructional coach, I have the privilege of being in many different classrooms. From those experiences, I see that it is less about the tasks, but about what students will be doing with that task due to the experiences that the teacher frames for the students. It is our job as teachers to fill our classrooms with purposeful experiences for all of our students.
